Welcome to our website.
We are proud to be one of the oldest antique shops in South Africa, founded in 1954 by Tony van der Merwe (hence the name Tony’s).
The shop had premises in Main Street, Russell Road and at the old Chinese school in Richmond Hill. Olaf Haitink bought the business from Tony in 1996 and moved the shop in 2009 into his historic 340 sqm Walmer family home, built and designed by renowned Architect W.J McWilliams around 1900.
We are buyers and sellers of antiques, South African and international art and hallmarked silver, always looking for unusual object d'art.
Interior decorators source quality items from our collection and we pride ourselves in finding your specific requirements, however small.
Quality antiques are desirable because of their age, beauty and condition. Also, collecting antiques preserves the heritage and in doing so benefits future generations.
The investment potential of quality antiques, plus the fact that antiques are exempt from capital gains tax make investing in antiques a profitable and enjoyable experience.
Georgian, Victorian and period furniture, paintings and unusual smalls and silver are our passion.
We look forward to welcoming you into our shop, or answering any questions you may have about our collection.
